Just a couple of days ago I learned of one of the suicide of one of my son's friends from a few yrs. back. It saddens me to the core.
When my own son called to talk, he said so simply, "gosh, I can't imagine not having even one single thing to look forward enough to that would make you want to not do it.....I mean, even 'Oh that's right, my show comes on tonight'.
At some point I want to share all the things I think about when I picture my son's failing high school and when I picture my own students, already giving up in middle school when they're really still just babies.
But tonight I just want to reflect on the passing of such promise. A full scholarship to college. A handsome and artistic young man. Some where, he got lost.
Any words I can relay to the parents?
